Eco Cabins

Eco Cabins: The Perfect Outdoor Getaway

The best way to find yourself again is to escape from the pace of everyday life, and with Eco Cabins, you can do just that. Deep within the mountains, a secluded mountain retreat awaits. We offer a selection of remote luxury mountain cabins sitting at the heart of 16 hectares of mountain wilderness. Alongside the Fynbos on the slopes of Rooiberg, our cabins offer a restorative environment for people to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate.

We aim to give you a place to reset with spacious and comfortable luxury mountain cabins. First created in 1831 and then sold to Willem Johannes Krynauw in 1903, the land is an ancient, untouched farm that borders the mountain wilderness. Apart from the lower fields, the land has remained untouched since then, with fields of flora and fauna nourished by two mountain streams.

The pull of the mountains is difficult to ignore, and our luxury cabins make it easy to answer that call. In this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know about our mountain cabins, the alluring beauty of the Western Cape, the nearby amenities, and the rich cultural heritage of South Africa.

Eco Cabins In Cape Town

Eco Cabins is situated just 73 minutes from Cape Town, just outside of Worcester. Our remote eco cabin retreat falls within the Breedekloof Wine Valley, famous for its wines, craft foods and vibrant and eye-catching flora. We’re committed to providing our guests with only the best service, and you’ll never have to worry about us disturbing you as you go about your days.

Self-Catering Accommodation

Each of our cabins are far apart from one another, so you’ll get the seclusion you desire and never have to worry about running into other groups or getting disturbed. All of our eco cabins are spacious and comfortable, even coming with uncapped Wi-Fi for those who need to stay connected to the rest of the world. They include a living area that comes with entertainment options like board games and books, bedrooms big enough for two people, a kitchen with everything you need, and an expansive deck.

Fire Lit Nights and Stargazing

Right outside is a braai area for you to take advantage of at mealtime or if you’re just looking to make a fire. You’ll also see a meditation area and an inviting rock pool at the nearby river. At the end of the day, unwind in the cabin’s hot tub or take some time to stargaze without the annoyance of light pollution standing in your way. Two mountain streams flow through the property, and the sounds of the rivers are perfect for truly unwinding in the mountains.

Eco Cabins In The Western Cape

The Western Cape is arguably one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet; its natural wonder draws people in from all over the world. The spectacularly beautiful beaches, gorgeous mountain wilderness, world-class wine routes, and unforgettable flora and fauna are just a few of the reasons that people keep coming back.

Cape Wine Routes

Our cabins are well situated for wine lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, as they are in close proximity to wine routes, hiking trails, and more. The Worcester Wine and Olive route is a short drive away, famous for its world-class wines and appetising olives. With 11 award-winning wine estates and two world-renowned olive producers, the valley is unlike any other. Its genuine old-world charm and welcoming environment only add to the experience of enjoying premium wines as you travel from cellar to cellar.

At the Worcester Wine and Olive route, you can enjoy food and wine pairings, cheese platters, or full meals, all while taking in the breath-taking views of the mountains and vineyards. The olive producers offer the familiar taste of the age-old olive with modern twists to tantalise your taste buds. You can even take on one of the mountain bike or hiking trails if you’re looking for some adventure. The Worcester countryside is a serene and welcoming environment located close to the vast Du Toitskloof Mountains.

We are also next to the Breedekloof Wine Valley, where the majority of the estates are family-owned, and the wine is up there with the best in the world. First established in 2002, the route consists of 15 wineries, including small boutique cellars and much larger co-operatives. You can take the cellar-to-cellar tour, enjoy some good food while surrounded by nature, and even take a walk down one of the hiking routes; there is much to do for everyone.

The mountain biking, running and hiking trails should attract anyone who loves exploring nature. You can take an off-beaten-path for an adventure, try out some river paddling or relax under one of the many waterfalls in the area. Other things to do include going to art exhibitions, attending a cooking or gardening class, or enjoying one of the immersive spa experiences. The Breedekloof Wine Valley is a unique, eye-catching and unforgettable destination, perfect for anyone who loves wine, adventure and art.

Nearby, you can visit the momentous towns of Wolseley and Tulbagh, both of which form key parts of the history of the country. Tulbagh showcases various events throughout the year, including the Tulbagh Spring Arts Festival and the annual Tulbagh Horse and Wildflower Show. Wolseley is a small town in the Breede River Valley region, rich in vineyards, orchids and flora.

All throughout the Western Cape, there is plenty to do. If you’re looking to take a longer drive, there is a whole coastline of beaches, museums and destinations rich in history, adrenaline-filled mountain biking trails, unforgettable river kayaking, and much, much more.

The weather in the Western Cape is that of a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and wet winters. If you’re not from the area, the best time to visit the Western Cape is between September and March, when the sun shines on most days, and you can really enjoy the outdoors. In the winter, many of the hiking trails are closed due to rising river levels.
