We believe that you shouldn’t have to pay an arm and a leg to enjoy the beautiful environment of the Western Cape, and that nature should be accessible to all. By booking cabins with us, you’ll secure access to plush amenities as well as sprawling views of the breathtaking fynbos region and all its associated wilderness.
The Perfect Romantic Cabins: Western Cape
All relationships benefit from quality time spent together, but in our busy lives, the time to really enjoy each other’s company can feel scarce and elusive. While it’s easier to keep pushing date night to next week when the demands of work are so pressing, making time for each other should always be a priority. Now might be the time to make up for that, with a weekend escape to an eco cabin.
At our private mountain cabins, you can devote yourself fully to a romantic getaway, letting all worries fall by the wayside. What better way to spend time with your beloved than nestled up in a cabin, tucked away in the mountains, surrounded by the views of the valleys below and peaks above?

The Environment Surrounding Our Mountain Cabins: Western Cape Wilderness
There is much to learn and enjoy about the wilderness that surrounds our mountain cabins. The farm upon which we are situated has been left largely untouched by human hands for nearly a century, allowing the indigenous flora and fauna of the Cape Floristic Region to wholly reclaim the land. This makes the property virtually indistinguishable from the government-protected wilderness that covers much of the Cape mountains. This, of course, means that you’re able to enjoy nature abundant with fynbos; a diverse, fascinating and hardy flowering plant.
What To Expect
There are thousands of species of fynbos, many of which can be found around our rentals. Although fynbos holds a range of appeals year-round, it’s during springtime that it attracts the most attention, blooming with an enthusiasm that paints the whole landscape in multicoloured hues.
This plant life also attracts a rich host of animals, which come in all shapes and sizes.
Although easy to overlook in both senses of the phrase, the insects of the Cape are worth seeking out, presenting the observant guest with notable finds such as butterflies, a range of indigenous African bees, countless beetles, camouflaged mantises, ant lions and much more.
The region is very popular among bird enthusiasts, too. Many come here to seek out colourful sunbirds, raptors, such as the Verreaux’s eagle, long-tailed sugar birds and silent owls at night. Spend enough time exploring the hiking trail that winds through the property, and you’ll likely come across some resident mammals, especially when visiting a river. You may come across hyraxes, small antelope, Cape porcupines and very rarely, Cape leopards.
Enjoy Cabins With Hot Tubs Western Cape
There are many ways to make the most of the wild surroundings around our rentals. Embark on small hiking expeditions, drinking in the views and challenging yourself with the terrain. You’ll be rewarded with not only breathtaking sights of the valleys below, but also incredible geography, plant and animal life, and even swimming spots along a small river that runs through the property.
But one of the best ways to spend your weekend away is to simply relax amidst nature, curled up in bed or sprawled over a sunny deck with a good book. You could also opt for the ultimate indulgence with a long soak in our cabin’s hot tubs. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy the serene atmosphere and beautiful views in the best way possible, letting the warm water soak away all the stresses of the city, and any grime you may have accrued along your adventures in the fynbos.
There are plenty of reasons to enjoy the more rustic sides of life when embarking on a weekend away in the mountains. It can be a refreshing and restorative experience to be away from some of the conveniences of the modern world, such as roads, smartphones and restaurants. Instead, this can be a time to reconnect with nature through long walks, dinner cooked over the fire, stargazing and simple relaxation, especially when there’s a hot tub around.

Eco Cabins Western Cape: Sustainability
We’ve built our mountain cabins on a swathe of farmland kept intentionally undeveloped because we value what nature can give us. Our surroundings in all their glory make the Cape Floristic Region attractive to visitors and locals alike, offering an unspoilt experience of what the world could look like, free of humanity’s industrialising touch. Although we’ve built accommodations amidst this wild environment, we aim to impact it as little as possible and protect it where we can. In that pursuit, we ask for the cooperation of our guests in certain matters.
Living Green At Our Eco Cabins Western Cape
You are free to explore all hiking trails in the area, visiting highlights like the river or rock formations. We ask, however, that you keep to established hiking trails to avoid trampling foliage underfoot.
When out in nature, refrain from picking any flowers or plants, and avoid disturbing any wildlife. Never litter, taking all trash with you and disposing of it properly when you can later.
The surrounding fynbos might be hardy, but it is particularly fire-prone, especially during the dry summer months. This means that an uncovered flame should never be brought into the bush, restricted only to designated fire areas. Even then, a fire should never be left unattended and should be kept well clear of flammable materials and substances.
The feeding of wildlife is strictly forbidden, especially regarding baboons. Baboons can easily become dependent on humans for food, becoming problematic in the process, which often ends with the animal needing to be put down.

Cabins Western Cape: Local Wine Spots
Within the area, you can find world-class wine routes to enjoy. One of the most popular wine routes is the Breedekloof Wine Route. The route was first established in 2002 and consists of 15 wineries, ranging from small to boutique cellars to estates and larger co-operatives. Most of the estates are family owned, with generations having grown up together, farmed together and made wine together. For a welcoming, family-oriented environment, this is a great experience.
Another popular spot is the Worcester Wine and Olive Route. Surrounded by an extensive landscape of gorgeous, rugged mountains, this wine route has 11 award award-winning estates and two world-class olive producers. The valley provides an unforgettable experience with authentic old-world charm and a relaxed country atmosphere. The short trip from cellar to cellar will quickly make you feel right at home, whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just someone who loves nature.
